What is Vaginal Steam, Rotus or Intimate Steam?!

While Pauline and I were deciding what to do during our Batam Trip…..We looked at the Harris Hotel Spa and we found something cool about massages. Its called the Vaginal Steam (aka Rotus or Intimate Steam)!

hahaha, its the paper underwear Pauline holding for our last couple spa in Singapore!

We have never heard of it so it picked up my curiosity and began to search online for more info about it! Is it solely something from Indonesia?

Vaginal Steam Baths are an old, respected treatment for women used by midwives and healers. They are a common and effective treatment for many female complaints, especially those of a serious or chronic nature. They are also good preventative care. Some of the most commonly used plants for the vaginal steam bath are oregano, basil, marigold, rosemary and motherwort. If using fresh plant material pick about a handful, if using dried material use about one cup of herbs.

Simmer covered in a gallon of water for 10 minutes and steep for 5 minutes. Remove the pot from the stove and place it under a chair with open slits; a cane, wood or plastic yard chair will work. Remove your clothes form the waist down, including underwear. Sit on the chair over the steaming herbs and cover your lower body with a blanket. This keeps the steam contained under the blanket. Be sure it feels comfortable and that you are not exposed to drafts. Keep your upper body warm. The steam bath, which introduces healing heat into the uterus, should last 20 minutes.

Afterward, try to rest in bed for an hour under warm covers. The steam bath my be repeated every two weeks as a treatment and twice a year for prevention, or more frequently if advised by your health care practitioner.

In Short, they steam a ladies private part with herbs. Yummy!
However, we are not going to try it and sorry, couldn’t be able to do a after review!!!
