HortPark ~ the gardening hub

Last Sunday, Kare & I visited the HortPark – the gardening hub. This is our 1st visit, as the park is still very new. The place is well decorated with nice flowers and plants, and with many pretty themed garden to explore. Even under the scorching sun, we were in high spirits when we stepped into the park! of cos, thoughtful Karen equipped us with ice cold honey drink, made it even more better on such a hot day!

And even coincidentally, we wear similar too…White shorts and same sandals, so colour matching!
我們心有連心?!~~ 😛

Some pictures up on Karen’s facebook! Link

The next time, would like to go to Southern Ridges for a long walk in the nature, that is, when we’re fully geared up for long walking! Who’s game for it?! 😉

HortPark is opened only recently, Late May 2008. It is a one-stop gardening hub that brings together gardening-related, recreational, educational, research and retail activities under one big canopy in a park setting. It is a knowledge hub for plants and gardening to share best practices and showcase garden designs, products and services. This 23-hectare regional park in South-Western Singapore is also a park connector, connecting Telok Blangah Hill Park to Kent Ridge Park.

Alexandra Arch Bridge

The southern ridge is a 9km trail that connect three parks along the southern ridge of Singapore, namely the Mount Faber, Telok Blangah Hill Park and the Kent Ridge Park. Some of the attraction along this trial includes greenery and the connecting bridges. This project linked up the parks between the West Coast Park and HarbourFront. The idea took 2 years to complete and cost S$25.5 million. The Sourthen Ridges consists of Henderson Waves, Alexendra Arch, Forest Walk, and then leading to HortPark.

You should have a better idea with the whole Southern Ridge Map shown below.

  1. Do you know the distance from Seah Im carpark to science park 1 and re-route backward to original starting point?
Is there a distance marking along the way?

Thanks for the pictures that were posted by you. Cheers..
