Pizzeria Mozza

Had a great night with Auntie Helen, Uncle Albert, Pat and my dear!  Pauline picked this new Pizzeria at the Marina Bay Sands called the Mozza Pizzeria.

Oh well….
Not being a professional food critic, heres my review, the Andrew’s way!!

The table set up…using a lot of papers
which i think was kinda environmental unfriendly…

Casual and comfortable ambiance to start the dinner…

Appetizer 1 – Meatballs al forno
Andrew’s Comment:
The same old meatball with tomato sauce… fresh says it all! Nothing exciting… a safe bet from the menu :P

Appetizer 2 - Fried squash blossoms with ricotta
Andrew’s Comment:  
Made with italian squash, the thing is boring as hell…sorry.
Andrew’s Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Appetizer 3 – Tricolore with Parmigiano Reggiano & anchovy dressing
Andrew’s Comment:
Since freshness is the most important issue here…it works, brilliantly.

Appetizer 4 – Mozza Caprese
Andrew’s Comment:
Presentation is everything, when all Mozza Caprese taste more or less the same to me,
I will give this delicate presentation a 4 star!

Pizza being the main item in Mozza Pizzeria,
all of their pizza are served thin crusted, brick oven baked,
and made to order!

Pizza 1 – Salumi piccante, mozzarella, tomato & Fresno chiles
Andrew’s Comment:
Salumi Piccante = Salame = Salami….always taste good on pizza! Together with Mozzarella cheese and tomatoes, things cant go really wrong with this combination!

Pizza 2 – Egg, bacon, Yukon gold potato & Bermuda onions Pizza
Andrew’s Comment:  
The sunny side up eggs not only gives you the symbol the morning sunrise,   it taste like serving a breakfast on a Pizza too!

Pizza 3 – Pizza alla benno: Speck, pineapple, jalapeño, mozzarella & tomato  
Andrew’s Comment:
Yummy Hawaiian style pizza! Only wishing that there is more topping on the pizza!

Nothing ends a dinner better with something sweet! Desert time and here it is!

Desert 1 – Caramel Copetta: Marshmallow sauce & salted peanuts
Andrew’s Comment:
Fresh “Snickers” on a plate , very very rich, very very sweet, very very salty. Worth a try with 2-3 friends, definitely not for 1 person to finish it up!

Desert 2 – Coconut gelato pie with hot fudge & salted almonds 
Andrew’s Comment:
use your imagination please…if you cant imagine the taste, give it a try and it will not disappoint you. Another sharing dish too.

Overall comment:  Worth a try but not attractive enough for us to re-visit…
the meal was about SG$250.  For about SG$50 per head, we have better options than this place for sure. However, location location  location…located at some new prime shopping mall, its something to be expected!

廣州 – 艇上人家

去左咁多地方, 我地點都要搵D野好野食!!!
雞煲蟹係我地今次旅程既重點,雖然無地鐵…但無論如可點都要去!

艇上人家 試雞蟹煲!

menu第一頁就係個雞蟹煲, 有平雞,中價雞 同 貴雞, 當然係MENU有D好靚既名啦…但係我都唔記得Lu…. :P
我地就揀左隻中價雞…煲size係無得揀既, 應該夠2-4人食

煲入面有好多隻奄仔蟹, 好鮮甜好多膏好味!!
蟹膏加上鮮雞真係好出奇地match!! 個雞蟹汁可以食兩碗白飯!

唔知咩菜…有D似長既耶菜花, 都好新鮮好甜好好味!!

餐飯食左大概RMB$150, 間艇上人家附近無地鐵,
係廣州東站大概25分鐘的士車程…值得一試的!





Processed food

Even we have been told that processed food is unhealthy to us…
However price, convenience and the added on flavor has not stopped schools to consume it…it has caused obesity to the newer generation.

I have always been trying to eat whole food only, and here this show has caught my attention!  Jamie Oliver is trying to help American to eat real food and he will show people how bad processed food is!

一行十人...舒舒服服

其實….食物方面….基於大家都愛上了我地D精選 homemade bbq 食物,
天台酒廊除左方便之外就沒有其它吸引之處了 :P

Celebrating for Pauline at the Fish Bar!

Congrats to Pauline for getting her driving license!
In order to celebrate, I have decided to date her for a pool side dinner at
Marriott with her!

We had lobster and crab cakes (Which is Really Gooood!),
18 oysters (something something from France…)
and a pan grilled wild caught garoupa served with
mashed potatoes, corn, salad and creamed spinach!

Yay!! Prime rib at Hog’s Breath

Knowing I am a big fan for the roast prime rib,
Pauline found this new eatery and we decided to go for a romantic dinner!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, prime rib, my top 3 personal favorite :D
(actually…what are the rest…?)

Hog’s breath is original an australian cafe,  now at Singapore Chijmes area at Cityhall!

yummy yummy prime rib with garlic prawns! Everything is above my expectation! Except the corn :P which is tasteless!

They claim their prime ribs were slow cooked for 18 hrs and then seal it with a char-flame for additional flavor!

Brunch with Sally at the Peak!

Since Sally decided not to see us at the airport (Reason was that she rather spend more
quality time with her family), we went for a decent brunch with her!

Picked the Pearl on the Peak for the day’s event,
The Peak, being one of her favorite place to go, this restaurant
comes with a 270 degree view of the HK city landscape thru the floor to ceiling windows,
It was really nice and comfortable to sit and chill!

Justin was late and I....am the one who took this picture!

我食過最好味的田雞!!

田雞, 自少很喜歡食的一種食物, 由細到大都唔知食個幾多碗田雞飯….
新加坡的田雞體型較大, 沒有食過Singapore既田雞就真係唔知田雞原來有再好味D既!!!

G7新馬砂煲活田雞

今次同Pauline family 帶我去Pauline好喜歡既田雞粥

宮保田雞

香濃惹味的宮保田雞實在出色,  不辣, 田雞好多肉,細緻鮮甜!!
用薑荵爆香再下香甜醬油…美味!!
Uncle Auntie 吃香辣的口味…再多一份辣椒香味!
不過真係好辣…

使我吃掉兩大碗飯!!

陳記燒鵝茶餐廳

今天因公事要去荃灣, 未食晏都唔知係邊到食好
行過陳記燒鵝茶餐廳, 見佢乾乾凈凈就走左入去…..

叫左個深井炒飯, 出乎意料地好味!
用多汁既燒鵝加上蛋花炒…好好好味!!!
$29 個茶餐絕對超值!!!

BBQ with David

因為多謝David帶左我去Marriott 間Fish Bar,
而我地兩個又想起讀書時成日都DIY good eats,
又發現David好耐無BBQ, 所以我決定安排一個BBQ

是日選址 :大譚水塘
港島的BBQ 地方真的比起新界的好, D 人斯文 D, 地方也不會弄得太髒 :)

先有David精心挑選既泰式大蝦...D 蝦味好好味!!!

發現大昌D USDA Prime rib 都不過不失, HK$110塊都算是不錯了

很重要的一環. 一定一定要比D時間佢休適!!

Authentic Korean BBQ!

After long and fun shopping experience in Seoul, we head for some real authentic Korean BBQ!
Searching thru the internet, found out this local favorites is serving “butcher to order” beef…
so here we go!

Since korean tends to like beef with a more chewy, so this shop does not sell beef that is aged for a softer texture.  Their beef is mosit, more red and the flavor is more tense!

土俗村參雞湯 – Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup

Said to be the best Ginseng Chicken Soup in Korea!
So we decided to give it a try on the 2nd day of our visit.

 

Nice and hot creamy chicken soup! Easy to digest, rich in nutrients and its only about HK$70!
no wonder its the local delights!

流浮山生日晚餐

Alex有新車,搵車揸…
我生日聚會我就話不如搵個地方可以揸車去啦, 
一舉兩得,何樂而不為呢 !!

經過Jason係openrice 研究,我地就同意去明記海鮮酒家…

食海鮮都係蝦蝦蟹蟹,我同Kingsley
都覺蒸魚最搵笨所以無叫魚…

其它食物不過不失啦,價錢也都算合理.

而當晚既油鹽水焗奄仔蟹是當晚最好味既一碟,是夜最愛!!
蟹膏多得瀉了出來 咸鮮味加上軟滑又香既蟹膏,真係好好好好味!!
