This time, we tried this Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa i’ve found on the ever-famous SG food blog ieatishootipost. This is actually the famous Depot Road Laksa. Really loved the reviews on the food blog, those rated with 4 and above are worth the try. The beautifully pix taken of the food he had reviewed also had intrigued taste buds, at least mine. It doesn’t cover much of restaurants’ food, more from coffeehouses and eateries, the very Singaporean kind. You would be surprised, these food can be more enjoyable than any high-end restaurants.

It’s his 2nd try of Laksa! It’s considered very spicy for him and a bit spicy for me, but.. the two young kids sitting beside us looks like they have no problem with the spicy-ness! It’s really up to one’s spicyness tolerance, but i would say, the spicyness of this Laksa is more daring then other normal Laksa u usually find in normal eateries in Singapore.
The soup base has stronger taste and is very thick, especially since it’s cooked in claypot. It was boiling bubbly hot when it was served to us. We always prefered yellow kind of noodles for Laksa and there is considerably amount of ingredients in it for $4/$5 each, including the cockles in it! This Laksa is popular, so please be prepared to queue for it.
We really loved the taste of this Laksa! Would give it a rating 9/10 for it
Boy’s actually sweating while eating, but didn’t wanna stop eating, he finished almost every drop of the Laksa gravy. It’s very enjoyable for me to see him so happy with his food.
He has fallen in love with SG’s Laksa~

Shiro looks like he wants a piece of Durian too!!!

Shemin had helped buy us durian home from Dempsey Hill after we had dinner there the same night. Boy had the chance of 1st time opening real durians by himself, as usually they sell these in boxes in hk.
So they 3 of us ate 3 whole durian up ourselves
and he learnt the old chinese beliefs way to counteract the ‘heaty-ness’ of the fruit, which is to pour salt water into the empty shell of the fruit after the pulp has been consumed and drink it. haha.. i’ve no idea how true is it, actually. But no harm doing that to prevent getting sick anyways.
This day, we joined another mini-tour to the Emerald Lagoon with Hot Spring, Crystal Pool and the Tiger Cave!

After a 1 hr mini-van ride, we had to walked some distance into the jungle with the group, and there is our 1st stop, the natural HOT SPRING! It’s warm and very clear waters…

Soon, we took another ride to our 2nd stop, and headed for the CRYSTAL POOL!
The water looks like very clear, very emerald colour! and it’s natural too~ very pretty looking~

Today is Girl’s 25th Birthday!

We woke up for breakfast in the resort, and went back for some resting before we head out for lunch again! and we had thai local food at the place called ‘Aree Ba Ba’.
Today, we joined a mini-tour by the locals to bring us to ‘Hong Island’ for canoe-ing and more snorkling and it’s really fun!!!
We were at the pier waiting for our boat to arrive …

It’s both our 1st time in Krabi!
We self-explored our way to Railey area and had lotsa fun getting lost and finding our way~~ We had to take a tailboat from Ao Nang Beach to Railey. This is the Railey beach near the pier for the boats arrival/departure.
The weather is so great! with the nice sand and waters, and big rocks and cliffs everywhere!

Girl’s Birthday is gonna be celebrated in Thailand, Krabi!!!
We took Tiger Airways airline to Krabi for our 5 days trip to Krabi in Thailand. It’s the only flight straight from Singapore to Krabi
The budget flight terminal looks very theme-park like, weird and funny looking!
